About this adventure

George Ranch Historical Park's fall heritage festival brings the ranch's Texas history to life for a day. Cowboys run cattle-working demonstrations, re-enactors stage battle scenes, and families can tour the park's historic homes. Between demonstrations there are games, hands-on activities, music and entertainment, plus vendors and food trucks. It suits school-age kids who are studying Texas history as well as younger children who mostly want to see the cattle and horses; plan for a lot of walking outdoors on the ranch grounds. Thursday and Friday before the festival are reserved for booked school groups; Saturday is the public day.
