An overnight family campout on the grounds of Deer Park's Avon Recreation & Fitness Center to celebrate Texas Arbor Day. The evening includes a campfire with hot dogs, popcorn and s'mores and an outdoor movie, and the celebration ends the next morning with a tree-planting event. Registration is per group of four — $20 for Deer Park residents or $25 for non-residents — with $5 for each additional person. The camp-out begins at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, November 6, and finishes on Saturday, November 7. Contact 281-478-2059 with questions.
