About this adventure
Booth Tarkington Civic Theatre's holiday musical is Annie, the seven-time Tony winner based on Harold Gray's comic strip, with songs including "Tomorrow" and "It's the Hard-Knock Life." Little orphan Annie escapes Miss Hannigan's New York orphanage in the 1930s, wins over billionaire Oliver Warbucks and keeps searching for the parents who left her. The cast includes a troupe of young orphan performers, so children in the audience see kids their own age on stage, and the story's optimism makes it a common first musical. Civic's 2026 run plays in Carmel's Center for the Performing Arts complex on Friday evenings, Saturday matinees and evenings, and Sunday matinees, with extra 7 p.m. shows on Dec. 16, 17, 22 and 23 and a noon performance on Christmas Eve. Tickets are sold through The Center for the Performing Arts box office.
