About this adventure

A park naturalist leads a guided night hike on the Salt Creek Trail under the full moon, the brightest night of the month, talking about the moon and what shows up along the creek after dark (October's is the Hunter's Moon). The route is about 2 miles and takes roughly an hour; the trail is rated very easy but should be treated as moderate in the dark, with minor slopes, a short stretch of lawn and possible wet or icy spots. Meet at the Olympic Pool parking lot. Red flashlights are preferred for night vision and can be borrowed from the naturalist, and pets are not allowed. Good for older children and teens who can walk two miles at night. Hikes may be cancelled for bad weather.
