About this adventure
The Indiana State Museum invites veterans and their families to honor Hoosiers who have served. Families can view the Heroes from the Heartland display on level 1, which shows artifacts from the museum's collection and the stories behind them, talk with the curator of history, try hands-on activities and pick up resources from community partners, and leave notes of gratitude. At 3 p.m. the Indianapolis Municipal Band plays a Veterans Day concert. A good outing for school-age children learning about the state's military history. Active and veteran military get free admission and immediate family members a $2 discount per pass, and veterans or active military with ID can park free in the White River State Park garage while spaces last.
