About this adventure
The world's biggest children's museum fills five floors plus 7.5 acres of outdoor sports experiences. Permanent galleries include Dinosphere (real dinosaur science in an immersive setting), Beyond Spaceship Earth on astronauts and space exploration, ScienceWorks, Treasures of the Earth (an Egyptian tomb, a Chinese warrior and shipwreck finds), The Power of Children (the stories of Anne Frank, Ruby Bridges, Ryan White and Malala Yousafzai), American POP, Mini Masterpieces, the Take Me There: Peru gallery and the 43-foot Dale Chihuly Fireworks of Glass tower. Playscape is the gallery for infants through preschoolers. Staff lead dozens of daily activities included with admission, and the Lilly Theater stages family plays. Tiana's Joyful Celebration, made with Walt Disney Imagineering, runs through Jan. 4, 2027, and All Aboard!, built around the Reuben Wells steam locomotive, reopens in fall 2026. The outdoor Riley Children's Health Sports Legends Experience is seasonal and closed for winter. Parking in the museum garage on Illinois St. is free.
