About this adventure
Newfields is the campus of the Indianapolis Museum of Art, with its IMA Galleries, The Garden, the historic Lilly House and the Madeline F. Elder Greenhouse, alongside the free Virginia B. Fairbanks Art & Nature Park. Families can picnic outside with their own food and non-alcoholic drinks (except during Harvest Nights and Winterlights), and bottles and sippy cups are allowed in the galleries. Backpacks and bags larger than 11x15x6 inches cannot be worn on the back in the galleries; lockers are available. On First Thursdays (Nov. 5 and Dec. 3, 2026, 10 am–5 pm) general admission is pay-what-you-wish, including $0. Marion County K–12 students visiting outside school hours for a school assignment get in free with a student ID. Advance tickets are recommended because entry is limited by parking capacity.
