About this adventure

Indianapolis Ballet's annual Nutcracker, performed since 2007, follows Clara's Christmas Eve journey to the Land of the Sweets with swirling snowflakes, waltzing flowers and the Sugar Plum Fairy, set to Tchaikovsky's score played live by the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra under Andrew Grams. Performances at Clowes Memorial Hall run about two hours with one intermission and are recommended for ages 5 and up. The opening performance on Thursday, Dec. 17 is a Sensory Friendly Performance with recorded music instead of the orchestra, a good option for children with sensory sensitivities or for a first, lower-pressure ballet outing. Tickets are sold online through Ticketmaster or at the Butler Arts & Events Center box office.
