About this adventure
The annual Evergreen Pumpkin Run, a 10-mile race and a 5K through historic Evergreen Cemetery in north Jacksonville. The entire 5K course is lined with pumpkins and runs under oak and magnolia trees, about 90% shaded. Both races start at 8 a.m.; finishers of both get medals, and runners can enter a Halloween costume contest (Scariest, Funniest and Best Overall). The 5K has award groups for 10 and under and 11-13, and youth entry is cheaper. Organized by 1st Place Sports; it benefits the Jacksonville History Center and the Evergreen Cemetery Association.
