About this adventure
The Jacksonville Symphony's First Coast Nutcracker, a North Florida tradition for more than 50 years, is a fully staged ballet with Tchaikovsky's score played live by the Symphony. Directed and choreographed by Rhonda Stampalia, the production features guest artists, storybook sets and costumes, a Christmas tree that grows to 33 feet, and more than 180 young local dance students on stage. The Symphony pitches it as a grand introduction to the arts for young people. Four full-length public performances are held in the Moran Theater at the Jacksonville Center for the Performing Arts. Groups of 10 or more get 20% off through group sales. Separate weekday school matinees on December 17 and 18 are for registered classes only.
