During this limited series, the Kansas City, Kansas Public Library's Main Library hosts three dance classes for young people, each exploring a different style from around the world. The series opens on November 5 with African Dance, taught by Rodney and Vanessa Gibbs, who introduce concepts and techniques of West African dance from Mali and Senegal, including dances that honour kings and queens, celebrate weddings and begin harvests. It continues with Dances of India on November 12 and Hip Hop on November 19. Each class runs from 6 to 6:45 p.m. in the 2nd floor auditorium. Classes are for ages 5 to 18 and registration is required, so sign up for each week you plan to attend.
