Windmill Library screens the 2004 animated film 'The Polar Express', directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Tom Hanks, in its auditorium on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Based on Chris Van Allsburg's picture book, the story follows a doubting young boy who takes an extraordinary train ride to the North Pole on Christmas Eve. Children are encouraged to come in their favorite festive pajamas, which makes it an easy way to start the holiday season with kids. The movie runs 1 hour 40 minutes and is rated G, suitable for preschoolers through tweens and their grown-ups. The screening is free and open to the public; seating in the auditorium is first come, first served.
