About this adventure
The Santa Ana Zoo's free Nature Journaling Club meets at the Santiago Creek ECO Center on the second and fourth Sunday of each month, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Participants explore the creekside habitat and then sketch and write about what they notice — plants, birds, insects, weather — as a way of paying closer attention to nature and practicing art and observation. All ages are welcome, from children and teens to adults, and both first-timers and longtime journal keepers. Materials are provided, but bring your own nature journal if you have one, plus water, a hat and sunscreen. It is free and open to the public with no registration required, which makes it an easy Sunday outing for a family with a budding naturalist.
