Educators from Dana Point's Ocean Institute visit Pretend City Children's Museum for a shark-themed science session for the youngest visitors. Children discover a shark's 'sixth sense', its unusual skin and its powerful sense of smell. The Ocean Institute, founded in 1977, teaches marine science and maritime history to about 100,000 children and adults each year from its Dana Point Harbor campus next to a Marine Protected Area, and brings that approach to this tot-sized program. It runs from 11 a.m. to noon, is included in museum admission, and space is limited, so book museum tickets ahead. Good for toddlers and preschoolers who are curious about ocean animals.
