About this adventure

Hollywood's Candy Cane Parade, which the city calls one of the longest-running holiday parades in the country, rolls along the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk on a Saturday night in early December. It started in the mid-1950s, when Hollywood merchants organized it to draw visitors downtown; today dozens of lighted floats, marching bands and decorated vehicles pass thousands of spectators lined up along the sand. The parade steps off at 7 PM at Missouri Street and travels south to Harrison Street, with the emcee stationed at the Hollywood Beach Theatre at Johnson Street. Families are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy for the Hollywood Fire Rescue Toy Drive; city staff collect donations at the Beach Theatre.
