About this adventure

A half-hour children's musical based on the Magic Tree House book series, performed by the young cast of Broadway Kids Studio at the Sunrise Civic Center Theatre. Siblings Jack and Annie are carried back to the age of pirates, where they hunt for buried treasure, follow mysterious maps and outwit a crew of bumbling pirates, learning about courage and teamwork along the way. The city describes it as a perfect introduction to live theatre for young audiences, with catchy songs, colorful costumes and playful staging. At about 30 minutes per show it is short enough for preschoolers and early-elementary children, and fans of the book series will recognize the characters. The show is rated G. There are four performances on the same Saturday, so families can pick a morning, midday, afternoon or early-evening slot. Seats are reserved; tickets are sold online (until two hours before each show), by phone or at the Civic Center box office, and parking is free.
