About this adventure

The Fort Lauderdale Youth Ballet's full Nutcracker, staged for three performances at the city-run Sunrise Civic Center Theatre. The cast is made up of South Florida's young dancers, and the city's listing describes the familiar story set to Tchaikovsky's score: Clara's holiday party, toy soldiers, swirling snowflakes and the Land of Sweets. The production is rated G (all ages admitted), and the city pitches it as a first ballet for families as well as an annual tradition. Each performance is scheduled for about two hours. Tickets are reserved seats at a single price, bought online through the city's ticketing site (online sales close two hours before curtain), by phone at the box office, or in person at the Civic Center. Parking on the Civic Center campus is free, but the city recommends allowing extra time to find a spot, and asks buyers to mention special seating or mobility needs when purchasing.
