About this adventure

Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida stages a sensory-inclusive Nutcracker at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center: an abridged, 60-minute version of Tchaikovsky's Christmas Eve ballet made for children and adults on the autism spectrum and others with developmental disabilities or sensory sensitivities. The production is adjusted with reduced sound levels, no flashing or strobe lights and minimal special effects, and a Sensory Quiet Room next to the theater is staffed by a specially trained therapist. Young at Art Museum leads complimentary arts and crafts activities starting an hour before the 11 AM curtain, and a character meet and greet follows the show. Tickets are unlocked with a code: call 954-468-2682 or email the Broward Center to receive it. Everyone in the theater needs a ticket; lap tickets for babies 12 months and under are sold only at the Aventura Center box office.
