Pembroke Pines holds its Veterans Day Observance at noon in Memorial Park at the Charles F. Dodge City Center, with pre-ceremony music from 11:45. The program includes the presentation of colors, a musical performance by the USAF Band of the West and guest speakers, and the Honoring Veterans Portrait Project — portraits and stories of local veterans — is on display. Hot dogs and refreshments are served afterward. Free admission and all ages are welcome, making it a good way for school-age children to meet veterans and learn about the day.
