Children ages 3 to 12 are invited to carve pumpkins in the Halloween Capital of the World. The organizer says pumpkins are gutted beforehand for convenience, awards are given for the best carved pumpkins, and all pumpkins are displayed on a float during the Light Up the Night Parade later the same evening. The 2026 brochure adds that kids can also create a small pumpkin using nature as a palette. The contest is sponsored by Bruce Nelson, Murray Enterprises - Anoka McDonald's. The website's venue field reads 'TBD' while the official 2026 brochure places it at Riverfront Memorial Park, 2201 N Second Ave.
