About this adventure

Teens in grades 8 to 12 take on characters at the Hidden Council's Annual Costume Ball, a three-hour murder-mystery role-play that the Mahopac Public Library hosts in its Community Room the night before Halloween. The storyline puts royalty from the Mage Guild, the Were Clans, the Vampyr Houses and the Fae Court in one room, where a special council meeting about a string of murders of the Watchers who keep the immortals hidden is expected; players spend the evening trading rumors, forming alliances and working out who did it. Signing up happens in person at the library: teens pick a role from the character profiles kept in the FAQ binder at the Youth Services desk and then return in person to collect their character packets, and once a packet is opened the character cannot be changed. Costumes are required, though they do not have to match the character. No fee is listed on the event page.
