About this adventure

The Oklahoma History Center, across from the State Capitol, is the Oklahoma Historical Society's 215,000-square-foot Smithsonian-affiliate museum with five galleries covering more than 50 topics and 2,000 artifacts, from Native nations and pioneers to aviation and commerce. Outside, the Red River Journey is a walking tour of Red River Valley landforms, plants and historic places, and the Tip of the Spear exhibit displays a Huey helicopter. Volunteer docents lead a roughly 90-minute guided tour every Saturday at 11:30 a.m. (join on arrival, included with admission), and a free audio tour is available in English, Spanish, French and German. Families will find a private nursing pod, changing tables in all restrooms and a social story to prepare children for the visit. Visitors under 18 must be with an adult.
