Clare and the Chocolate Nutcracker is a locally produced retelling of The Nutcracker, written and produced by Beverly Page, that follows Clare on a dream journey with the Chocolate Nutcracker and the Sugar Plum Fairy through Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, the Pacific Islands, India and Puerto Rico on the way to the Kingdom of Toys. The production blends ballet with other dance styles and the cultural traditions of Central Florida's communities, and the presenter describes it as a lively holiday treat for the entire family. The single 2026 performance is on the Saturday after Thanksgiving in the Walt Disney Theater at the Dr. Phillips Center; the show runs about two hours, so it suits school-age children who can sit through a full evening performance.
