About this adventure
Theater West End's youth education program, West End Prep, stages Elf The Musical JR., a 60-minute musical comedy version of the holiday film. Students in grades 2 to 8 play the roles in the story of Buddy, a human raised at the North Pole who travels to New York City to find his birth father, a dad on the naughty list, and a half-brother who doesn't believe in Santa. The show includes ensemble numbers such as "Sparklejollytwinklejingley" and "A Christmas Song". The one-hour running time makes it a good first theater outing for younger children, and families of the young cast fill the house. Two performances are scheduled at the historic downtown Sanford theater, a Saturday matinee and a Sunday evening show; tickets are sold through the theater's website.
