- City of Maitland Parks & Recreation
City of Maitland Parks & Recreation hosts a free outdoor movie on the lawn of Independence Square, the green beside City Hall and the library. Families bring chairs or blankets and settle in for an early-evening film; free popcorn is handed out from 15 minutes before the movie starts until an hour into the show. The 6-8 p.m. slot makes it manageable for younger children on a December Saturday. The film title is not posted on the city calendar yet, so check closer to the date if you want to preview it.
