West Chester's holiday season peaks on Friday, December 4, when the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce stages the annual tree lighting at 6:30 pm followed by the Hometown Christmas Parade at 7 pm, emceed by 6abc meteorologist Adam Joseph and B101's Kathy Romano. Both are part of Chester County Hospital Lights Up Holiday Weekends, which runs from November into January. Other dates in the series: Santa rides a fire truck on November 28, December 5 and December 19; Balladeer carolers stroll on weekends from November 28 through December 19; and on Saturday, December 12 there are photos with Santa and a free holiday concert from 2 to 4 pm, plus a Christkindlmarkt hosted by Downtown West Chester and the Chester County Art Association. The chamber says traffic safety details, including the route, are still to come.
