A one-hour family workshop at Boyce Thompson Arboretum near Superior. Arizona is home to 29 bat species, and bats are important pollinators — they are the reason the state has the saguaro cactus. Families learn about these animals through a bat game and make a pinecone bat craft to take home, timed nicely for Halloween week. Pricing is per child aged 5–17 ($10 non-member, $8 member), and up to two adults per family attend free with a child; adults must register too. Booking is through the arboretum's online registration.
