The family-friendly evenings of Desert Botanical Garden's Halloween-season Strange Garden, Friday and Saturday, October 23–24 from 6 to 9 PM. Children can meet 'unicorns', propagate a plant to take home, visit the Witches Library for a free book, dance at the Monster Bash, and get hands-on with nature activities at the Haunted Hideout for little ghouls. Each child 12 and under gets a free pumpkin from the pumpkin patch, and food trucks are on site. The family weekend is included with general admission or membership. Costumes must be family-friendly, with no weapons or sharp objects. (The garden's Strange Garden Spirit Walk is a separate adults-only ticketed event.)
