Montclair kicks off the holidays with Holly Jolly Holiday at the Montclair Youth Center and Alma Hofman Park. From 3:00 to 8:30 p.m. families can try a sock skating rink (wear socks) and snow sledding, both new this year, browse holiday craft vendors and eat from food trucks. The Tree Lighting Ceremony begins at 6:00 p.m., followed by free photos with Santa, hot cocoa, cookies and letters to Santa from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. while supplies last. Children can bring a letter to Santa or write one there and drop it in a special mailbox; Santa may reply by mail if the child's name and full mailing address are included. Waivers must be signed on site for the snow and sock rink, so dress for the snow. Sponsored by the Community Activities Commission and the Women's Club of Montclair.
