About this adventure

Roseville's adaptive recreation team runs Sports Hangouts so neurodivergent children and teens can play a sport without the pressure of a team or a scoreboard. The youth soccer hangout for ages 6–17 meets for one hour, 3 to 4 PM on Sunday, November 15, at the covered soccer arena in Maidu Regional Park. Sessions focus on moving, socializing and having fun rather than competition. Like all of the city's adaptive programs, it is supervised by a nationally certified Recreational Therapist, a parent or caregiver can come along to help at no extra charge, and non-disabled friends and siblings may enroll too. Registration goes through the city's ActiveNet site (search 'Sports Hangout'); the fee is $15 for Roseville residents and $20 for non-residents. A separate soccer hangout for adults 18+ meets November 8.
