Davis Turkey Trot

Since 1988, the Davis Turkey Trot has been held on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. The race is based at Civic Center Park (6th and B Streets) in Davis, and the courses loop through the town's residential neighborhoods and greenbelts. There is a distance for every age. The Kids Fun Runs (a half mile, a quarter mile and a Toddler Trot) are for children 12 and under. They are not timed, every child gets a finisher medal, and they start at 10:30 am after the main races. Families can also enter the timed 1-mile run/walk at 10:15 am, the 2-mile at 8:45 am, or the 5K (8:05 am) and 10K (8:45 am), all open to all ages. The half marathon (7:50 am) is for ages 15 and up. A child riding in a stroller registers free. After the races there is an expo with refreshments and vendor samples. The race benefits the Yolo County SPCA. Packet pick-up is the Friday before at the Veterans Memorial Center. The race is rain or shine, and entries are non-refundable.
