Southgate Recreation & Park District turns the Jose P. Rizal Community Center into a Halloween night destination for families from across South Sacramento. The carnival has games where children win candy prizes, hands-on arts and crafts, a candy walk, and a family-friendly Halloween movie for those who want a quieter evening. Older kids can try the Haunted House, while a scare-free zone is set aside for younger trick-or-treaters and families who prefer gentler fun. Costumes are encouraged. The event runs 5 to 8 pm on Saturday, October 31, 2026. Carnival entry is $5 for kids 16 and under and free for adults; the Haunted House is $2 for unlimited visits.

What was checked & what still needs confirmation
Read in a browser. The queued URL southgaterec.com failed to connect; the district's current site is southgaterecandpark.gov (www.southgaterecandpark.net redirects there). The event-calendar teaser still says '2025' but the event page and calendar entry both say Saturday, October 31, 2026, 5:00–8:00 pm. Phone is the events line printed on the calendar page.
