The West Sacramento library holds its yearly pumpkin decorating event on a Friday afternoon in late October. Children each take one pumpkin to decorate; because the event is popular, the library asks families to limit themselves to one pumpkin per child so no child goes home empty-handed. Adults are asked to wait until after 4:30 pm to take a pumpkin for themselves. The event lasts about an hour, so arrive at the start for the best choice. Free; no registration is listed.
