Historic Market Square hosts Calaveras de Azúcar, a two-day Día de los Muertos celebration over Halloween weekend. The plaza fills with a marketplace of artisan and food vendors and live entertainment, and the organizers invite families to bring everyone to experience the holiday's traditions of art and music. It runs from 10 am to 8 pm on Saturday, October 31, and 10 am to 7 pm on Sunday, November 1. Market Square is the city-run historic market on West Commerce Street downtown, with shops and restaurants open around the festival grounds. The event is sponsored by the Farmer's Market Association.
