Central Spooktacular is the Central Library's family-friendly Halloween celebration, filling a Saturday afternoon (2–5 pm) at the downtown library on Soledad Street with activities for every age. Costumes are encouraged, so children can come dressed up and make an afternoon of it. The library lists the event for kids, teens, adults, families and older adults alike, which makes it an easy outing for mixed-age groups and grandparents. It is free and open to the public with no registration required, so families can drop in during the three-hour window rather than arrive at a set start time.
