About this adventure

On the Saturday after Thanksgiving the small Kendall County town of Comfort turns its historic downtown into an all-day Christmas festival. More than 100 arts-and-crafts vendors line 7th and High Streets, food courts and drink booths gather at 7th & High, and live music plays on three stages (7th & High, Remedy Hall and Comfort Backyard) through the afternoon. Children can visit Santa Claus in a dedicated Santa area from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. At dusk the town lights its Christmas tree at 6:30 p.m., followed at 7 p.m. by the Lighted Night Parade of decorated floats and a fireworks display after the parade. Families with young children often come for Santa in the early afternoon and stay for the tree and parade; bring chairs or a blanket for a curbside spot and plan for limited parking in the historic district.
