On the Friday before Halloween, McKenna Children's Museum in New Braunfels offers a $7 admission to visitors who come in their Halloween costume, plus a spooky scavenger hunt through the museum. It is a daytime, low-key alternative to evening trick-or-treating for toddlers and preschoolers, who can play through the museum's exhibits in costume. The museum calendar lists the offer for Friday, October 30 during regular opening hours; it does not list a separate start time.
