Schaefer Branch Library on US Highway 87 East throws a not-too-spooky outdoor Halloween party on its playground for children 5 and younger. Little ones are invited to wear their costumes and meet at the playground for an hour of Halloween-themed activities with their grown-ups. The party runs 10–11 am on a Thursday morning, a good fit for toddlers and preschoolers who are not yet in school all day. If it rains, the library moves the party indoors, so the event goes ahead either way.
