Certified guides from the Friends of Guadalupe River State Park/Honey Creek State Natural Area lead an interpretive walk to Honey Creek, one of the last pristine bodies of water in Texas, discussing plants, wildlife, geology and the area's cultural history. The trail is about 2 miles and moderate: mostly flat, with rocky stretches, slopes and two short steep hills, and the walk takes about 2.5 hours with frequent stops. It is recommended for ages 7 and up; no dogs except service dogs. Register by emailing honeycreekhikes@gmail.com with your name, group size and date. Meet outside the Rust House inside Guadalupe River State Park at 9 am, with sturdy shoes, water and sun protection.
