The City of New Braunfels honors local veterans with a ceremony and parade downtown on Saturday, November 7. The ceremony begins at 9 am on Main Plaza, followed by the parade at 10 am with local veterans' organizations, community floats and nonprofit groups; the 2026 grand marshal and guest speaker is New Braunfels native CW5 (Ret.) Gene Forester, who served 44 years beginning in the Texas National Guard. It is free and a good chance for children to wave flags and thank veterans along the route. Groups can register online to be in the parade; a parade map is posted on the city page.
