Crab Cove naturalists lead a toddler-friendly walk in the redwood forest at Roberts Regional Recreation Area in the Oakland hills. Young children explore the tall trees, ferns and forest floor at their own pace with plenty of stops to look and touch. The group meets in the lower (main) parking lot. Bring a snack and layers for the cool forest; strollers are not recommended for most hikes. The program is drop-in with no registration and an adult must take part. It is part of the Park District's Hikes for Tykes series that rotates around East Bay parks.
