About this adventure

The Cantor Arts Center sits in the arts district of the Stanford campus and is always free. Its 24 galleries hold part of a collection of more than 38,000 works spanning 5,000 years, from the Americas and Europe to Africa and Asia, so a family visit can jump from ancient objects to modern painting in a single afternoon. It is an easy place to introduce children to a big museum without a ticket commitment: drop in for half an hour and leave when attention runs out. Galleries, gardens and restrooms are wheelchair accessible, with a drop-off point on Lomita Drive and a ramp to the south entrance; wheelchairs can be borrowed. Tootsie's at the Cantor serves lunch and afternoon tea Thursday–Monday.
