About this adventure

The big purple museum beside Guadalupe River Park is built for play-based learning from babies through early grade school, and calls itself the 'museum of no no-nos'. Inside, children climb and crawl through TapeScape, a world made of tape; send colorful objects whooshing through the tubes of the Amazing AirMaze; splash balls through spouts and whirlpools at WaterWays; build with the big blue blocks of Imagination Playground; and pretend as chefs, cashiers or grocers in the Rainbow Market kitchen. Wonder Cabinet is a materials-rich space set aside for ages 0–4, Streets lets kids climb onto real vehicles, and Mammoth Discovery! introduces Lupe, a 14,000-year-old mammoth whose fossils were found on the Guadalupe River. Outdoors, Bill's Backyard is a half-acre nature play space and the Exploration Portal has a giant beehive to scale and a stone xylophone. The LeRoy Neiman Art Studio runs artist-guided projects. Exhibit spaces are wheelchair accessible. Museums for All visitors with a CalFresh/SNAP EBT card and photo ID pay $5 per person for up to four people (in person only).
