About this adventure
Families can learn about Diwali, the festival of lights celebrated by Hindus, Jains, Sikhs and some Buddhists, at this museum-wide celebration. Children make a diya lamp, create rangoli designs (all day), decorate a Bandi Chhor Divas cloak and admire rangoli artwork by Purvi Shah. Special programming runs 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., including a solo performance and interactive workshop by Sindhu Ravuri (10:40 a.m.), a read-aloud with Ishmeet Ghai (11:15 a.m.), Bhangra dancing (11:25 a.m.) and a Kathak Kala Vihar dance performance (11:40 a.m.). Museum tickets required.
