Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose celebrates the arrival of 2027 at midday on Wednesday, December 31, 2026, with doors opening at 9:30 a.m. The Purple Museum runs its own version of the Times Square ball drop, with confetti and countdowns at 12:00, 1:00 and 2:00 p.m.; each drop shouts out to a different country and what children there might be doing at that hour. Activities and performances fill the rest of the day for families whose children cannot stay up until midnight.
