About this adventure
New Ballet and Symphony San Jose present The San Jose Nutcracker at the historic California Theatre downtown, a two-act production with live orchestra that moves the story to turn-of-the-century San Jose. Sets include a growing replica of the historic San Jose Electric Light Tower and a 1905 city skyline, and first-act costumes are inspired by period dolls from the History San José archives. New Ballet's professional dancers perform with students from its ABT-certified training program and dancers from Los Lupeños Juvenil. Before each show the lobby has holiday decorations, music on the theatre's historic organ, costumed characters to meet and fairytale photo spots. Everyone ages 1 and up needs a ticket; buy only from New Ballet or Symphony San Jose to avoid resellers.
