About this adventure
King Library's Children's Room hosts a free, drop-in National Chemistry Week celebration for kids and their families. This year's theme, Chemistry Under Construction, has children testing which building materials and techniques hold up best against wind, rain and earthquakes, comparing insulation materials, trying ink chromatography and making boo bubbles. Every child who takes part gets a prize and a free copy of the American Chemical Society's kids' magazine Celebrating Chemistry, while supplies last. The program is presented in English, Spanish and Vietnamese, and suits elementary-age kids and tweens.
