Zoo Boo is Point Defiance Zoo's Halloween weekend: children come in costume, play themed games for treats and watch the animals receive pumpkin enrichment. The schedule includes a costume parade and Monster Mash dance party starting at the Picnic Pavilion at 10:15 am and 1:15 pm, divers carving pumpkins underwater in the Pacific Seas Aquarium (11 am) and the Tropical Reef Aquarium lagoon (2 pm), a tiger pumpkin enrichment, polar bear and red wolf keeper chats, and animal encounters. Self-guided stations around the zoo run 9:30 am–3 pm, including ring toss, build-your-own-bug, skull sleuthing, owl pellet dissection and an x-ray exam station, plus a pumpkin weight guess and voting for the best decorated area. Visitors can also look for the zoo's giant troll sculptures. Zoo Boo activities are included with zoo admission or membership.
