ASO Family Concert: Winter Wonderland — Atlanta Symphony Hall

About this adventure

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra's holiday family concert fills Symphony Hall with carols and seasonal favorites for children 12 and under and their families. On Sunday, December 6, the full orchestra, conducted by resident conductor William R. Langley, is joined by actors and dancers on a festive mission to deck the halls. The program includes Leroy Anderson's Sleigh Ride, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, the concert suite from The Polar Express, selections from Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker, Delvyn Case's Rocket Sleigh, an excerpt from Louise Farrenc's Third Symphony, and a holiday sing-along at the end. There are two performances, at 1:30 and 3:00 p.m. ASO family concerts include a pre-concert festival with the Instrument Exploration Station, where children can try instruments, plus arts and crafts and photo booths. Tickets are sold through Ticketmaster; the ASO notes a family subscription to all three family concerts saves 30 percent.
