The City of Marietta's holiday kickoff fills Glover Park on the Historic Marietta Square from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2026. School and church choirs perform from 4 p.m., children can play winter-themed games for prizes and write letters at Santa Letter Stations, and around 5 p.m. families can join the Ugly Holiday Sweater Parade around the Square (registration and rules on the city page). Santa arrives around 5:15 p.m. and joins the Mayor to light Marietta's Great Christmas Tree at 6 p.m. It is an outdoor evening event, so bring layers; strollers are practical on the Square.
